Bee balm. My first cultivated bloom.

It’s here, friends.

The book I have been researching since 2018. The miles I have been walking, the medicine I have been making. The drying, infusing herbs and roots are all culminating in my lovely book Healing Where You Are: An Introduction to Urban Foraging, now available for pre-order from Akinoga Press.

With beautiful illustrations by local Baltimore artist Kim Mattison, this book focuses on connecting to and being in nature in the seemingly-unnatural urban environment. It’s a call to hyper-local bioregionalism, to explore and learn what’s growing right outside your door.

Stay tuned for more book news as it occurs, including a book launch/medicine-making workshop or two at Full Moon Acupuncture & Apothecary in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore in July and a talk at the Pratt library in Baltimore in September.

And, as always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. I couldn’t do it without you.
